PRAYER FOR PEACE
If there is righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty in the character.
If there is beauty in the character, there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world.
So let it be.

*CALL TO CONTINUING WORSHIP | (from Psalm 99)
One: Magnify the LORD, our God!
One: Bow low at his footstool!
Many: He is holy!
One: Moses and Aaron were among his priests,
Many: Samuel too among those who called on his name.
One: They cried out to the LORD, and he himself answered them—
Many: he spoke to them from a pillar of cloud.
All: They kept the laws and the rules God gave to them.
One: LORD our God, you answered them.
One: To them you were a God who forgives
Many: but also the one who avenged their wrong deeds.
One: Magnify the LORD our God!
One: Bow low at his holy mountain
All: because the LORD our God is holy!

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of all, you meet us in the mundane; you seek us out through the spectacular; and you confront us in customary ways. Often we see you. Sometimes we acknowledge you and are moved by you. Too often we relish the moment and then set it on the shelf of memories. Help us to carry your presence into our present lives. Let our memories of your presence become ever present motivators. Let our abiding sense of your constant companionship become also a sustaining comfort. Amen.

*SILENT PRAYER OF CONFESSION

*DECLARATION OF FORGIVENESS
…Friends, believe the good news of the gospel:
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!

THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM

Presentation
Elder: On behalf of the Session, I present to the congregation Jaxon Timothy Calderone, son of Natalie and James Calderone.
To the Parents:
Minister: James and Natalie, do you desire your child to be baptized? I do.

Minister: Relying on God’s grace, do you promise to live the Christian faith, and to teach this faith to your child? I do.
To the Sponsors:
Minister: Do you promise, through your prayers, example, and love, to support and encourage Jaxon to be a faithful Christian? I do.
To the Congregation:
Minister: Do you as members of the Church of Jesus Christ promise to guide and nurture Jaxon in word and deed, with love and prayer, encouraging him to know and follow Christ and to be a faithful member of Christ’s church? We do.

Affirmation of Faith and Renunciations
Minister: Through baptism, we enter the covenant God has established. Within this covenant, God gives us new life, guards us from evil, and nurtures us in love, Natalie and James, as God embraces you within the covenant of love, I ask you to reaffirm your faith in Jesus Christ and to confess the faith of the church, the faith in which we baptize. Trusting in the gracious mercy of God, do you turn from the ways of sin and renounce evil and its power in the world?
Parents: I do.
Minister: Do you turn to Jesus Christ and accept him as your Lord and Savior, trusting in his grace and love?
Parents: I do.
Minister: Will you be Christ’s faithful disciple, obeying his Word and showing his love?
Parents: I will.
Minister: With the whole church, let us stand and confess our faith using the words of the Apostles’ Creed. I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Thanksgiving Over the Water
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
The Baptism
Minister: Jaxon Timothy Calderone, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

THE LORD'S PRAYER
…Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

WORDS OF INSTITUTION

SHARING OF THE MEAL
(All who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord, regardless of age or denomination, are invited to partake in the Sacrament of Communion. Today we will serve Communion by intinction. Please come forward down the center aisle. Break off a piece of the bread and dip it into the cup and eat. Or you may take an individual cup from the tray and drink. We also have gluten free bread available. Return to your seat by the side aisle. If you are unable to come forward, please indicate this to the pastor and the sacrament will be brought to you.)

PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
You have gathered us in and fed us through communion. Here, at the table, the simplest of things become your great feast for all your people. We are filled by your Spirit not just for today but also for the journey of our tomorrows. For all of this we say, “Thanks”. Amen.
